800 Subscribers Special: VS. My Subscribers!
Made in WarioWare: Do It Yourself

A tribute to my YouTube subscribers, made using the successor to Mario Paint, namely WarioWare DIY.

Composer's Comment

It was (and still is) customary to have video specials on YouTube for subscriber milestones, and there's also a tradition of making battle themes for other composer friends on YouTube. I decided to celebrate 800 subscribers by combining those two traditions, and making a quick battle theme dedicated to my subscribers.

For this purpose, I used a video game called WarioWare: Do It Yourself. The music portion of that game could be considered a DS port of the Mario Paint music maker (popularized in recent years), with many of the same limitations. For example, there's a max length to your compositions, the sounds aren't that great, and you cannot have that many instruments active at once. However, just like with chiptunes, I find such limitations to be inspiring. That being said, I wouldn't rank this particularly high compared to my other compositions :P

I made another thing in WarioWare: Do It Yourself a year later, namely a remix of Sky Tower from the first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games.
